in Whittier & Chino Hills, California
November 25 , 2005
Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks to all that we have and on Thursday, November 24th, 2005, BAPS Care International, together with the its volunteers delivered canned food, non-perishable food items and fresh fruit to over 400 residents in the city of Chino Hills, the city of Whittier and to the Los Angeles Mission in downtown LA.
Over 220 homes at the Rancho Monte Vista Mobile Home Park along with over 180 homes in the surrounding neighborhood near the existing temple in Whittier California were part of this annual event.
Over 50 youths worked hard in collecting and distributing the food which started about 2 months ago. The youths were volunteering their time over the weekends and the weekdays collecting food and concluded Thursday morning with the distribution of the food. “To see the youth work hard and volunteer their time on weekends and give back to the community is a great thing,” said Anoop Gandecha a Chino Hills resident and volunteer of BAPS Care.
