Community Health Fair
April 24th, 2005

BAPS Medical Services held a health fair on Sunday, April 24th from 9:00am - 1:00pm at the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Whittier, CA. Free medical and consultation services were delivered to all who attended the fair. The free medical services included screenings and laboratory services for all.  Physicians and health care professionals offered medical care from various sub-specialties, ranging from internal medicine, cardiology, pediatrics, physical therapy and dentistry.  Participants also had an opportunity to sit in educational seminars focusing on healthy living, nutrition in the Indo-American community, body mechanics and ayurveda. Seminars were conducted by experts in these various fields.  Physicians emphasized that healthy living is a combination of physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The event proved to be a success for all. A panel discussion was held at the conclusion of the fair in which physicians and health-care professionals declared to offer their services to all those in need of medical attention at any given time and place.

Free medical, dental, and chiropractic services are also offered every Sunday afternoon at the temple's medical clinic. Physicians provide their voluntarily services to those who are in need of health care. In addition, the upcoming Chino Hills Hindu Mandir and Cultural Center will include a state-of-the art medical facility that will offer free medical care to the community.
